Here comes Soggy Spice.

Mel C

Mel C’s latest album, This Time, made its North American debut this month and failed to show any of the promise of her success with pop super group Spice Girls. This Time is her fourth solo studio album, yet it has only been even mildly popular in Switzerland [it released in Europe last spring]. The title track is a whiny love ballad that might make sense from a half-baked 17-year-old pop star. The album’s worst song is a cover of Bow Wow Wow’s “I Want Candy” which rivals the Aaron Carter version from the 90s. “Don’t Let Me Go” (featuring Adam Argyle) is perhaps the most redeemable song, and even that isn’t saying much. Each song is as forgettable as the next, proof that solo careers are not for everyone.
